Environmentally Sustainable Design is defines as design that aims to minimize resource consumption and pollution. This kind of design does not cater to minimum up-front costs, but it provides a more complete solution to the sustainability issue through a holistic approach. Through an interactive and dynamic relationship between the building, natural resources, and the surrounding environment, the health of the building occupants and their resulting overall quality of life is enhanced. Natural resources such as the soil, the sun, wind and vegetation are used to heat or cool the building.
