Eco-compatible building
Eco-compatible building is characterized by the minimization of damage to the surrounding environment due to construction activities. Where there used to be plants, animals, wetlands, and forests, there are now buildings that produce waste, pollute the air, and consume energy, water, and soil. On one hand we have to reduce energy consumption; on the other hand we need to minimize CO2 emissions due to heating based on fossil fuels. The construction industry is accountable for up to 50% of total consumed energy. 'Eco-compatible building' is based upon principles such as the "genius loci" (the spirit that inhabits a place); "environmental wisdom"; "regionalism", which refers to the use of local construction materials that are particularly suited to the specific microclimate, making them fit to stand the test of time.
