Bio-compatible architecture
Bio-compatible architecture aims to improve the standard of building quality and enhance the occupant's quality of life. It considers the following processes:
- Production and installation of construction materials;
- Use and maintainance of buildings, from cradle to grave;
- Evaluation and control of the selection of construction materials, building techniques and building services;
- Concerning raw natural resources that are widely spread on the Earth's surface, quarrying plans have been introduced for landscape protection (e.g. marble quarries in Carrara). The process waste is, for all intents and purposes, suitable as construction material for buildings and roadworks as opposed to further quarrying.
